can you find me?

a good saturday [Sep24'2006 01:51AM]
I went to the Camden Markets today; which were really amazing. They are huge (we weren't able to do the whole thing in four hours) and have just an amazing selection of ethnic food/clothing/furniture/jewelry etc. I somehow managed to restrain myself purchase wise which was no easy task. I bought most of the books I need for my class; the most expensive one being 3 pounds. I also bought "Confessions of Felix Krull Confidence Man" by Thomas Mann; which I have been searching for for over a year; I could not find this book anywhere in the United States. (Do you remember reading the short story in Hesse, Kafka + Mann, Erica?) So it basically made my whole week to find this book. The only other thing I bought is a sweatshirt (for 12 pounds) so I decided I did really well.
This evening we went to see the Philharmonic Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall; they played three pieces one of which was Peter + the Wolf. They debuted a stop action animated film that they played along with the live orchestra. It was so charming and so funny (although a bit dark; but in a good way.) The music, of course, was incredible. One of my flatmates is a pianist so it was interesting to go with her because can appreciate and notice things about the performance that go right over my head. Oh and the hall was just stunning. (Here is a picture- http://www.flg.co.uk/gallery_pages/images/royal-albert-hall2.jpg of course you have to be there to truly appreciate it.) After the show, we went out to a placed called Giraffe for cocktails. So now it is bedtime; I'm thinking of going to the National Gallery tomorrow but I will see. I miss you all- hope school isn't kicking your asses.
Love + Goodnight!

jesus christ.

you CANNOT imagine the fucking day i just had.
i am so glad it is over in 45 minutes.
hopefully tomorrow will be better, if hotter.

(sorry, i'm not going to elaborate but i just had to get that out there.)

holler! [Jun08'2006 09:41PM]
long time no real entry. work is going well except it WON'T STOP FREAKING RAINING. i work OUTSIDE people! it is a sad day when a girl has to wear her long johns in mid-june. sort of upset i haven't made a worcester trip yet...my day off next week is wednesday + i'm should be out of work around 4:30 on tuesday , although it could be as late as 6. though that may not work out due to some complications that i'm not going to get into here, but if you're in worcester let me know.
i'm super super super psyched for london + i've been trying to save my money + not go out to eat too much but that is wildly unsuccessful.
ok that's all for now but worcester people should let me know what's up.
oh + everyone should see all about my mother, but not the breakup.

why is blissful not an option for mood on lj? am i the only one that feels blissful a lot? [Jan27'2006 02:04AM]
[ mood | peaceful ]

ok, there's this girl who was a contestant on america's next top model named naima and everyone (except me) hated her because she was a bit pretentious and seemed to think she was better than everyone else and she used to talk about how she was named after a john coltrane song.

well i heard the naima song for the first time today and i really love it and it's making me really happy to just sit here in the dark and listen to it even though it shares it's name with a contestant on a upn reality show. i just thought i'd share.

so anyway i'm really excited for you to make me my john coltrane cd magdalena.

tonight + this weekend [Jan26'2006 01:38AM]
[ mood | relaxed ]

tonight was a lot of fun. i think scene it might be one of my new favorite games. (and NO not because mika + i won.)

but anyway it was totally worth screwing myself over homework wise for the night. i am excited for this weekend.

oh and thanks to everyone who made my birthday + party awesome (or less sucky during the less-than-glamourous moments i had)

good days, bad days, halfways days [Jan12'2006 01:24PM]
[ mood | stressed ]

i bought my first set of wine glasses yesterday!

today i'm getting all the stuff that was on my old broken laptop on my new one!

that means all my old music + pictures that i thought were lost forever!

(but ohmygod i have so much i want to do before i go back to school)

sunday! sunday! sunday! [Jan10'2006 04:40PM]
hey...i'm thinking of going back to clark on sunday. is anybody else coming back on that day too?

[Jan05'2006 08:48AM]
i was working on my resume yesterday because i need one for the internship program and i realized that i'm going to be pretty lucky if i don't end up in a janitorial position. because my previous jobs usually have little to do with each other and even less to do with anything art-related. but a common theme of every single job i've had is cleaning. thanks to my valuable work experience i now know how to clean amusement park rides, steam engines, toys, bathrooms, dining rooms, freezers, and baseball fields among other things.

i think i found my soul mate. [Jan03'2006 06:26PM]
because i truly believe that this house and i are meant to be together for the rest of our lives.

i'm not even joking.

oh that we could always see such spirit through the year... [Dec25'2005 03:31PM]

happy christmas everyone!

i love you + miss you all!

i hope santa was real good to you!

[ mood | blissful ]

the great thing about this break is that i have the house to myself a lot and it's AMAZING. i swear to put wu-tang in the stereo on one side of the house and just blare it so i can hear it while i talk online and the other end of the house is one of life's greatest pleasures. i have a feeling that the dog doesn't really appreciate too much, but that's really his problem.

"falkenham estate" [Dec18'2005 09:31PM]
ok so this is coming about two months in advance but i talked to my grandparents this weekend + they said that if i wanted to have friends up to the cabin again on the weekend of february 10-12 then that would be cool. are people interested/is that a good weekend for all y'all? if it is bad lemme know cuz the weekend before that (the 3-5th) is also open. so if people are interested in going up again i need to know so i can "reserve" that weekend for us.

thanks. (and in case you're wondering if you're reading this you're invited)

[ mood | restless ]

being wide awake at 1am on a friday is normally completely normal, but suddenly i come home at it's 1 am and i'm walking around a dark house wondering what to do with myself and why i can not fall asleep because i need to be up at 6:30 am the following morning....shiiit one feel's like an insomniac.

[Dec11'2005 05:10PM]
i am not being as productive today as i REALLY need to be. i cannot wait until this semester is over. you know you're bullshitting WAY too much when you start a paragraph with "I think that Métropolice is a novel that is very interesting. The subject of terrorism is current and provacative." and then realize that you have absolutely NOTHING more to say about this interesting and provocative novel? (even if i did do MOST of the reading assignment)
can i just tell you the worst part of being an art history major BY FAR is memorizing slides. it may actually be the only bad part of being an art history major. so instead of doing that i am doing other things like taking a silly quiz.

Your Deadly Sins

Greed: 80%

Sloth: 80%

Gluttony: 60%

Envy: 40%

Lust: 40%

Pride: 40%

Wrath: 0%

Chance You'll Go to Hell: 49%

You will die love and feared by many. And you'll be buried in a tomb.

I'm not going to lie, when I die if I'm loved + feared by many and get to be buried in a tomb I think my life will have been a success. And if I had to have two worst sins, sloth + greed are probably them. and maybe a weakness for old school toni braxton.

i'm not completely sure how i feel about this. although i do feel the emphasis on "stylish" makes me look a wee bit shallow. but i do know how i feel about the goat in my mood section; i love it. opinions anyone? (on the quiz results NOT the goat.)
